Nostalgia
Those who were born before the millennium i mean the late 80s and early 90s had it great musically.we had a great deal of music starting from koffi olomide tshalamuana, Mbilia Bel my favourite to Awilo Longomba. These folks were so talented that the music they made managed to make the most saved of the pastors shake their bodies and twitch a buttock here and there in some uncontrolled pattern when their music came on. Radio stations weren't many in the country so most of us were at the mercy of KBC the only surviving government. Since the country was ruled by some man what they broadcasted was final. We had to bear with their unending adverts since they monopolized the airwaves. afete most of these Kardashian-Nicki Minaj wannabes wouldn't know what this life was. Many who grew up in this era know that listening to good music from those age-old radio cassettes was. If youn are from this era you might be tempted to tell Wasafi to leave us alone. We might even look for Migos parents to tell thier sons to stop mumbling in the name of rapping. Congolese music ruled the airwaves. They defined even the way people dressed that included baggy t shirts. They even affected my dad who was a staunch christian in that he kept a neatly kept Afro know he was a secret fan of Oliver Ngoma a guy who also had us on our feet. he came up with relaxing ballads like Bane and Adia did i forget to mention Lusa.Tshalamuana also kept us up with a great rhumba track Dezo Dezo and Esina Bali. How am i even forgetting Kanda Bongo Man with his signature dance in Bili a great soukouss jam.It is a great song that can break your legs if it hits you when you have imbibed the bitter frothy drink (alcohol). It can remove a style or two in your hidden self. If you are from this generation and you haven't married we are coming for you with canes.Growing up wasnt bad after all
Do you remember your idiot self???
